The Role of the Church
God has placed the responsibility on parents for properly training children. This is clear in numerous Scriptures.
“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4
Bridgeton Baptist seeks to assist families to follow the Lord wholeheartedly. Periodic sermon series and classes are focused on learning and implementing God’s counsel for the family. We also have several resources in our bookstore to help families train their children to follow Christ.
It is vital parents model the life they desire their children to live. Our greatest ministry to children is actually a ministry to parents and grandparents. We desire to encourage adults to faithfully honor God and fulfill their God-given responsibilities in the home.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
Loving nursery workers provide a clean and safe environment for newborns through three year olds. This is available during all regular meetings of the church. Parents can have peace of mind while they attend one of the Disciple’s Guide classes or one of the worship services.
Children learn key truths of the Bible through the many stories in Scripture. Using bright visuals, the teacher presents a fresh Bible lesson each week. Children also sing familiar hymns and choruses. They learn to apply Bible principles in their daily lives. The Bible lessons are reinforced with character-building stories, simple crafts, and other age-appropriate activities.
Children will experience a Junior church service that is as full of energy, excitement, and hope as they are. They will learn powerful truths from the Bible that will stick with them for the rest of their lives. They will memorize Scripture, participate in games, and make great friends.
