The Blessed Hope

Every year we plant our gardens, and it's gardening time now. We hope that it does not frost and kill all the plants, destroying all the hard work we have invested. We have fruit trees, and hope it will not frost and kill the blossoms that will bear fruit this summer. But that hope is simply based on fate because there are no guarantees that the frost won’t show up. And we all know it does from time to time.
However, not all hope is based on fate. The Bible tells about a hope with a guarantee. Because of this guarantee it's called “the blessed hope”. It's a hope with “substance”. It has the promise of God to sustain it.

Titus 2:13 Looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

The blessed hope is exclusively for believers. Those who have acknowledged the conviction of sin by the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and have asked Jesus to cleanse their sin and grant them the pardon promised to all who will believe receive this hope.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

The hope is called blessed because, when Jesus comes, he will provide a place for all believers to dwell in, that will:

  1. Never allow any pain or suffering. No crying, or tears No more death, but -

  2. Will make all things new, and God, Himself will dwell with them.

Theologians call this “eternal security”. There is no fate involved in this Hope.

Song writers have written about it.

“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

When he shall come with trumpet sound, oh may I then in Him be found.
Clothed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne.
On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”

Place the guaranteed hope of your future in Jesus.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

God Bless.
