Be Very Courageous

Joshua 23:6
Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

“Be very courageous” is an admonition to us because there are many things that can trigger the emotion of fear to rule our thoughts, and thus our lives.

Proverbs 23:7. For as [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he...

It’s an admonition we should learn at an early age and carry with us to our last day here on earth. One definition of its meaning is: “being motivated from the heart to do something brave”.

New challenges face us as we grow. We will face new experiences, and have to walk through new circumstances where we have never been. It is easy to dwell on the hurt, the pain, or the failure these experiences could cause. It is good to be discerning, cautious, and thoughtful.

Just be sure our thoughts include God. Throughout Scripture, when the admonition is given by God to be courageous, it is always paralleled with the thought “I am with you”.

We are admonished to be courageous because we know who God is.

Psalms 40:7. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me.

Read the Bible today.
Learn about God.
See God in action.
Listen to His promises.
Be equipped to walk courageously through this life.
Experience God being with YOU.

God Bless.
