Trials

Hi Christian, don’t be a pessimist about trials!

James writes to tell us trials are great opportunities. That is why he counsels us “to count it all joy when you fall into [various trials]”.

If we approach them with this correct biblical attitude they will enhance our life. The promise is they will make us “perfect, entire, wanting nothing.” And we can all use quite a bit of improvement, right?

James teaches us to let this trial we are going through do its work on us. There is a great blessing for those who endure. For those who make it through without giving up or giving in. This assumes God is watching and He is.

It is God’s desire to reward you with the “crown of life”. This is a far greater achievement than receiving the gold medal at the olympics. It's the same crown God bestows upon the martyrs talked about in the book of Revelation 2:10. They are victors in the trial of their faith even unto death.

As we endure our trials we can be a living sacrifice unto life as Romans 12:1-2 talks about. Same crown because it's all about sacrifice. “Let patience have its perfect work” in your life.

Face your trials in the counsel of God's word. Enjoy the blessing of those who endure.

God Bless.
