Cast Your Care

I was reading and came across this story that you probably have heard different versions of as it's been around for awhile.

A farmer once took a trucking company to court seeking reimbursement for damages suffered when his vehicle was hit by an 18 wheeler, injuring himself, his mule Bessie,and his dog Shep. He entered the courtroom on crutches and bandages all over him. Under cross-examination the lawyer for the defense said, “Did you or did you not tell the highway patrolman at the scene of the accident, that you were fine?” ---”Well yes, but”--- the judge ordered the farmer to finish his statement. “---well,---when the patrolman came on the scene, he could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her and looked at her, took out his gun and shot Bessie right between the eyes. Then he found Shep my dog and examined her, then he shot her. Walking across the road he found me lying there. He told me he had to shoot my animals because they were in very bad shape and asked, ”How are you feeling?” It was then that I said “I’m fine.”

Many times we may use this same expression “I’m fine” in public, but in reality we are hurting inside. Be reminded of these verses.

Hebrews 4:14-15
For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched by the feeling of our infirmities...let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly of heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
